Jekabpils the Latvian city of south-east, on both banks of the Daugava. The current area up the 1962nd year, bringing the left bank of the Daugava Jēkabpils Krustpils the right bank. Jekabpils is the eighth largest Latvian city 143 km away from Riga.
Jēkabpils (dt: Jakobstadt) ist eine Stadt im Osten Lettlands, an der Düna auf halbem Weg zwischen Riga und Daugavpils. Sie gilt als die inoffizielle Hauptstadt der Landschaft Sēlija.
Die historischen Teile Jēkabpils und das nördliche eingemeindete Krustpils liegen auf beiden Seiten der Düna, die hier von einer Brücke überspannt wird.
Südlich der Düna liegt auch der Verwaltungsbezirk Jēkabpils novads, der aber administrativ von der Stadt getrennt ist. Diese bildet als eine der 9 lettischen "Republik-Städte" eine eigene Einheit.
