Visited early Sunday evening for something to eat after a cinema visit. staff very approachable and friendly, had the gammon, egg and chips and chicken burger and chips, fair pub grub type offerings, no issues with meals and all served hot and tasty.
great selection of real ales and other drinks
very nice traditional pub just off the beaten track, was not too busy to put us off and find somewhere else

Best staff...great food...great atmosphere..love this place. Brendon, Sarah, lyle, Nathan, Simon and all the rest of the bar staff and kitchen staff are soooo helpful and approachable. Thanks Oc,s. Xx

Best old fashioned pub in the city centre. Good range of ales. Just a bit pricey. (Edit following response from Old Contemptibles: fair point, upgraded rating).

Nothing but good things to say. Clean, tidy, well maintained pub with great staff.
I haven't eaten here yet, but friends have and the service is prompt and professional.
Toilets are clean and always functional. Outfoor seating is minimal but the best they have with the space available.
Always friendly.
