Nice place. A bit pricey by hostel standards and it''s bit of a walk from the train station, so rail backpackers, take note. Marked down one star because our room lacked in some common hostel ammenities, such as accessible power outlets and hand soap (toliet was in the room). Another star off because the receptionists weren't very informative. They sort of tried, but lacked confidence and knowledge on the aformentioned problems and other hostel matters. They did try to help with our railpasses though.

Spacious rooms. Ideal for people young at heart. Since this is a youth hostel, make sure to come prepared with a high tolerance for noise. The wifi is quite slow. The included breakfast is nothing special. The hostel is immersed in greenery. There are many cycling and walking trails through the forest.

the food here was disgusting and we had pretty much the same thing every day. the rooms were so tiny that we had to squash all of our stuff together since it was crowded and the toilet was disgusting and the shower room is smaller than my wardrobe at home. the WiFi was terrible, you could not even get it in your room and had to use up all of your data just to use the internet. the only good thing was the vending machine that had mezo mix and the one that had snacks.

This was the worst place to stay at in Freiburg. The rooms are tiny, there is no wifi, the food is disgusting and the showers are disgusting. The youth hostel security is rubbish and anyone could just wonder in and steal. They give you these keys that barely even work and the breakfast is the same everyday, dinner is even worse. They gave me undercooked pasta with terrible soft meatballs. If I could describe this place with one word the word would be terrible.

It has nice rooms, and also you can get nice view of Schwarzwald, tasty cold breakfast, and nice service. The only thing that concerns me is that it could be tricky for someone new to locate the place. But it's actually pretty easy after the first time around
